Thanks for any help in advance!

Henrik, this one is related to T. perspicillaris (two pale abdominal bands) but doesn't fit this species. Unfortunately, there are several possibilities I am not familiar with... Do you have more pictures, where the colour of legs can be seen well? It doesn't matter if other parts of the fly are out of focus. I just need to see the legs :)

Oh, I have a whole set of bad pictures of this fly! :D These two show some of the legs.
(Tibiae and the basal portion of basitarsi orange red.)

Superb! :) They show clearly that femora are dark and tibiae are pale! That should help! :) And I can see it has pale palpi too (second picture)!

I shall go through the keys and descriptions again tomorrow (I need to go to sleep now ;) ). Hope to come back with good news! ;)

You are very, very kind! Have a good rest, and please excuse me for my stubborn insistence on getting a proper ID for my Bombyliidae...

It is a pleasure for me to help if I can! :)

Regarding the fly, I am not as sure as i was with the previous ones...

The keys take me to Thyridanthrax mutilus. Description doesn't fit as well as I would wish but still it is the closer to your creature. But at least, it is the one that fits better of all possibilities and the only one specifically cited in Rhodes. I cannot guarantee it is that species, but I am almost sure it is :)

:D:D:D This was a tough case, I think... It seems to me that there is no other choice than T. mutilus.
Thank you very much!
Kind regards,
Henrik
