I found this fly with the pictures of Swammerdamella sp. GC1. It has a larger abdomen and the marginal vein is longer. Could it be a second species of Swammerdamella (sp. GC2)? The second picture attached is of Swammerdamella sp. GC1 which has probably already been posted.

Hi Graeme !
The first picture is a female of
Holoplagia guamensis (thorax broad, M1 angled near base, tarsi contrasting yellow, shape of terminalia). The second picture is a
Swammerdamella indeed.

Interesting, the species Holoplagia guamensis, is not listed on ALA.

The Pacific catalog lists Micronesia as its range.

Holoplagia guamensis is a cosmotropical species. It is virtually present in all tropical areas of the world (even if not yet recorded). But if I remember well, Graeme, didn't you already submit a picture of this species taken in Townsville (Queensland) some months ago ?

Yes I did. Presumably a male due to the much smaller abdomen.
