found on 2015-08-20 in the vegetation near a small pool at Patsch, Tirol, Austria (about 1000m over sea level). Regards, Ingo

Quite possibly, Tephritis conura (posterior notopleural seta looks dark), but without that character, it can be everything...

Thank you Valery. As far as I can see they are blackish. The fly was found on a leaf of Cirsium oleraceum, which is a very common thistle there.

Then yes, for sure T. conura. This is a polymorphic species with several host plant races, and European specimens are often quite uncommon.
