Hello,

A Tachinidae found on the ground, in a Coniferous part in a mainly decidious forest, the 12 august 2015, in North of France, Cassel
Maybe a Phryxe ? but I'm not sure

Greetings,

Thanks you Theo ! :)
Unfortunately, I haven't keep this specimen :S
on the original pictures it's a bit blur, but there is at least no long hairs, I'm not sure if there is some short one but I would say the eyes seems to be bare

It is an Allophorocera ferruginea, but indeed an unusual grey specimen.
I know there is quite some variation, but this is extreme.

Someven your common Tachinidae are special !

Thanks you, Theo :)

I have found him just beside a piece of rotten Coniferous wood so maybe there was Tipulidae larva in it
