Well, since females Metopia cannot be distinguished, that is a very difficult question.
My gut feeling is that the host specificy in Metopiinae is at least partly an artefact of the fact of reliable records.
As long as this artefact is not removed, I am not convinced Metopiinae are strict in host choice.
