Thread subject: Diptera.info :: dipteran's pupa? => Nematocera or Rachicerus

Hi again,

is this the pupa of a dipteran at all...? I'm not sure about that. Is someone able to say sth. about it?

Length 5 mm.

2015-04-02, Germany, S-H, Mohrkirch, woodpile near a hedgerow.

It could be Athericidae pupa ?

It appears to have a many-segmented antenna, indicating Nematocera or Rachicerus.

Thank you! That might be a wide range, but it's much better than nothing! Rachicerus is another genus I never heard of.

Note the great similarity to Anisopodidae (also very similar to a Sylvicola pupa I've encountered):
