Thanks John. I have no key to this family for Cyprus so had had to resort to looking at on-line images of the various genera. Two I had found that seemed to have some species with mouth parts looking like this were
Bombylella (but with no species apparently recorded for Cyprus) and
Conophorus, for which the only species recorded for Cyprus is
Conophorus greeni Austen 1936. I could find nothing more on this species and no illustration of this species itself! However your suggestion of this genus suggests possibly along these lines and perhaps someone else may be kind enough to comment further.
