Many thanks Cesa. I had thought it was going to be Bombyliidae but did not have the confidence to suggest it! When I make suggestions I invariably turn out to be wrong! Nearly 60 Bombyliids are in fact recorded for Cyprus so if anyone else can possibly get me a bit further with genus or species that would be brilliant.
