Can anyone suggest a genus for this Tabanidae? Malaise trap, Townsville, Queensland.

So, Graeme,

The basicosta, are they bare or setulose as the basal part of the costa ?

Wing removed. I believe the basicosta is bare.

I'm in doubt, Graeme. Basicosta looks setulose in the second pic, but definitely not sure. You did not need to remove the wing, you can see it easily with wing. Now, in this last picture, I'm not sure what I am looking at.

OK understood. This is an old specimen though and the wings would not bend away from the body. I think we will leave it there. Maybe I will collect a fresh one. At least I have learnt where a basicosta should be. Thanks for your help.
