Can't imagine how something like this would come from worm but surely reminds on it.

These are the remains of a Millipede (Diplopoda),

One could also say it mybe shrinks a bit at dying and drying.

The exoskeleton of Millipedes is usually calcified, so it doesn' realy shrink.
