Hi,
is this fly an Anthomyiidae? Could it be Eutrichota praepotens?
The pictures are from Sept. 5, taken in our garden in Hannover/Germany.

Eutrichota looks likely.
E. praepotens females have swollen fore tarsi. Do you have a shot of the fore tarsi (segments 2-5) from above?

This picture shows the fore tarsi better. It looks very similar to E. praepotens in the gallery.

Because we don’t have a clear view on the lenght of the aristal hairs and expanded fore tarsi, there are more possibilities ….
Eutrichota seems right, but it also could be
Eutrichota frigida (in outer appearance they can look very simular)…the main differents between those two are the lenght of the aristal hairs and wich tarsi segments are enlarged.
In
E. praepotens tarsi segments two to four are expanded.
In
E. frigida tarsi segments three and four are expanded.
In my opinion…only the thirth and fourth tarsi segments seems expanded, but …...I am not 100% sure.
I would keep this fly for now as
Eutrichota species.

After having a closer look on the tarsi I am 100 % sure that segments three and four are enlarged.
Here I have a clearer view of the arista. Could this confirm E. frigida?

Aristal hairs are very difficult to photograph, .... on your last photo, it is still to blur.
I know you like to have a species name, but sometimes we just have to be happy with only a genus name…..just more luck next time!
