Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Orange Heleomyzidae - Suillia sp. on toadstool

I found some small slim orange flies on some toadstools growing from a rotting log. Reminded me of Psilidae, but a close look at the photos shows a row of bristles on the leading edges of the wings, so maybe Heleomyzidae…? and Suillia bicolor looks a good match, but I may well be wide of the mark. Please advise!

Hi Nick,

actually that looks like the clear-winged Suillia I saw the other day but didn't collect, and I've been looking for it again.
I suppose you'd have to key it

Many thanks Ruud. Both flies were on the same toadstool, but yes the second one has darker antennae. Many thanks for the ID.
