found in copula on grass in a meadow near Igls/Innsbruck, Austria on 2014-09-12. I have no idea.. . Regards, Ingo

Cecidomyiidae. Probably Cecidomyiinae, which is by far the largest subfamily and includes all the gall makers. The hunchback appearance and red color remind me of Planetella but the antennae are wrong. Males of that genus would have more than 24 apparent segments in the flagellum (more than 12 flagellomeres but each is doubled). A male with ~18 apparent segments would be Lasiopteridi.
