Hello,
A Heleomyzidae (maybe ?) found in a forest, the september 13 2014, in France, Clairmarais,
Maybe a
Suillia ?
I have still the specimen if more details are needed !

there are a few, tiny, colourless hairs on the side of the scutellum.

I had to go upstairs to my study. I have here the two vials with me. I did not pin or glue the specimens yet. ;)
Are you sure the specimen on the photo is the same one as I have here? The spines on the costa of the fly on the picture are quite big, while bicolor has much smaller ones. I can't see more details on the photo. The specimen in the vial is a normal bicolor, with the small hairs on the scutellum, which can sometimes be very difficult be seen.
