I believe this is Cecidomyiidae. Can any one suggest a subfamily or genera? Malaise trap. Townsville, Queensland.

Graham - check whether the tibiae have spurs. If so, it's Sciaridae.

I agree with Sciaridae, or less likely one of the wandering genera of Sciaroidea with no fixed abode.
