I captured this specimen in central France, near Tours, at the end of July 2014.
Total length is ca 5 mm.
Note that the genitalia have been removed, but not properly prepared yet.
This is definitely a Syrphidae, Pipizini
Is this Trichopsomyia flavitarse or Heringia heringi (or another genus)? Pipizella is ruled out by the hairy femurs and tibia.
