I assumed these flies from Hackney were Conops flavipes not having seen it before but now I'm not sure. I found what I think is a female ceriaeformis at this location and now I'm wondering if any of these males might be the same species. It's not one I expected to see in London so I've certainly not been looking out for it. I've been seeing them every day for two weeks but not paying much attention unless they came close. Can anyone help determine which it is from just a few british species?

thanks,
Jeremy

I think it is C. ceriaeformis (male).
