Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Help in identification of yellow rounded abdomen fly?

Hello,
Can anyone please help me identify the Diptera in the attached image? I desperately need to identify it for my thesis but am having no luck. It was observed on a carcass.

Location was in Bookham, south west England, the date was the 29th May 2014. Many thanks.

OK. Unless you have a better picture, I can only guessing (the picture is too blurred to see whether it has presutural acrostichals, and legs are not visible) : my guess is
Phaonia subventa (female), but as I said, nothing sure here.

Hi Stephane,
Thank you very much, thats much appreciated! Unfortunately I was photographing it through a mesh cage so the only other picture I have is the zoomed out version. While this may be less blurry, there is a carcass in it which I didn't want to subject people to!
