Answer to "bums": compared with Chlorops the differences in Thaumatomyia spp.: if (interfrontal setae) in one or more rows (not outside but) on the surface of the ocellar triangle; extrudable odor organs on the hind part of the abdomen in some species, 2 each side before the epandrium, apical setae on scutellum very close together.
