hello,
these two I recognized today, 16-08 in Voeren, Belgium...my guess is Chlorops cf. meigenii or
Thaumatomyia notata....but certainly there is someone who can identify the two correctly, if possible from these photos.......many thanks in advance...chris

Chlorops spec., Chloropidae: important characters for identification not visible. (Thaumatomyia notata has the two apical bristles of the scutellum closer together)

Answer to "bums": compared with Chlorops the differences in Thaumatomyia spp.: if (interfrontal setae) in one or more rows (not outside but) on the surface of the ocellar triangle; extrudable odor organs on the hind part of the abdomen in some species, 2 each side before the epandrium, apical setae on scutellum very close together.

This is the only other photo which is usable...but I'm afraid it is not sufficient for further ID either.
Thanks anyway for your explanation, greetings chris
