Let me know if this is possible for you.

Hi Theo - are you really sure of that? I have a pair of Germaria angustata collected by Steve Downes from the known UK locality and they don't look like this at all.

Germaria angustata has a longer body and string median marginals. The bend in the median vein is also quite sharply angled and the face is pale.

Here are a few threads with photos like mine:

hi Mucha,

So, to be clear, it is not Germaria.
Not clear what it is, though.

It's an odd one - certainly would be nice to see a specimen to check what it is. The face looks very interesting - very wide. :)

Right.
So let's rethink this.

I think it is the male of Elodia morio. That is why it is so difficult to recognize, I have seen only one in my life.

Hi Theo,

I think you must be one of the few who hasn't received Germaria angustata from me, see PM :)

I'm lost.

There are strong apical scutellar bristles present, so no Lydina.
Wing venation does not agree with Elodia.
There are several setulae on base of vein R, so no Elfiini.
??

So, my final call:

Male Synactie parvula.

If this is correct, it is clear why it was so diifficult.
If not, I won't do another try.
