My tiny ones with black antennae always were Chrysotus species.

Thank you very much.
The male use his legs to stimulate the female by a ventral massage. Then she "goes down" and the copulation begins. Is this a part of the normal courtship sequence in the genus Chrysotus? Regards, Ingo

I do not know the rules of Doli courtship, but I observed that Metopia girls love to be petted, too :D (http://www.dipter...to_id=4501).

Well, I saw males of Dolichopus discifer using the forelegs to impress females (see https://commons.w...06-16.webm). But in this case the behaviour seems to be quite different. It is interesting to hear that Metopia girls love caresses as well, thank you. Regards, Ingo
