Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Asilidae, South Africa -> Alcimus sp

This one is photographed close to a Small stream at Blyde River Canyon.
Mpumalange, South Africa. The height above sea level is 1000 meters or more, accoding to my memory. Date is 19th December 2006.

Unfortunately I only have a single photo of this large Robberfly.

I have come to the conclusion that it's an Alsimus sp.
