Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tabanus sudeticus? From bulgaria

Hi,

the next ones should be more interesting (but are very difficult for me) but let's start with the big ones.

They where all flying around a horse (that had to stay on the sun at midday, because he was attached...). Looking at my picture, the where at least 3 Tabanus species (+this one: 4), at least one Haematopota and Hippobosca equina. All of them quite numerous.
Fascinating for me, but i wouldn't have liked to be this horse!

If someone know: is there a specie there i could mistake with Hippobosca equina?

For this specimen: not that easy, but T sudeticus seems to be the one that fits the best, but i wouldn't bet to much on the!
