Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Fannia lustrator

a large 12-14mm fly with a distinctive front femur which is half dark. Does the feature suggest a genus? An anthomyiid probably I think or possibly a muscid

It seems to be within the range of color variation of Fannia lustrator (at least if you consider both sexes). I don't know what structural characters would confirm.

The vertical ventral spine on katepisternum would, but I already agree with Fannia lustrator.
