Hello,
at the end of May I have taken a photo in northern Germany of this about 20 mm long crane fly, it looked for me in such a way, as if she filed her eggs in a rotten, humid tree cave.
i think it is Dictenidia bimaculata - can this be confirmed?
Thanks and best regards, Frank

Dear Frank,
This is Ctenophora pectinicornis. Dictenidia bimaculata has two spots in the wing (bimaculata).
Zie http://nlbif.eti.uva.nl/ccw/ for more information and images of the species.
All the best,
Pjotr Oosterbroek
