It has been suggested (on the Danish site Fugle og Natur) that this male Sarcophaga is perhaps a Sarcophaga vagans.
Can this be confirmed?

The fly was seen in Aalborg, North Jutland, Denmark on August 28 2013.
I recall it as being of middling size, about 6-9 mm.
It was sitting on my ankle, so not so easy to photograph.
