On 2013-08-31 I found this fly laying its eggs into faeces on a stump of tree in a forest near Marburg, Hesse, Germany. For me it looks similar to Anthomyia pluvialis in the gallery.

Seems more A. procellaris, a common fly......but strangly still not recorded for Germany ??
Maybe Ackland could common on this one also....

This species seems to be present in Germany too (there are several photos of A. procellaris from Germany in the gallery...). Greetings, Ingo
