Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Morellia specimen

I'm fairly sure this fly is a Morellia. I've not found a muscid like it before, and it is the wing venation that convinces me it's probably this. It was in the woods just north of London, on farmland. We have two UK species the checklist says, M. aenescens and hortorum. If the genus is correct, is there something external I can check on this specimen to decide which of the two it is?

thanks,
Jeremy
