Elachiptera bimaculata (Loew, 1845) (Chloropidae) with its typical short form of the scutellum, its well separated yellow apical projections and 2 prominent longer orbital bristles. In the Mediterranean this very abundant species is extremely variable concerning its body colour and its dark markings. Compare the notes on E. austriaca:
