I was able to identify these flies as Curtonotidae. Is there anyone able to identify the genus or even the species?

Suriname, Para, Berlijn (savanna belt), V-2012, at light.

Thanks,

Scarabaeoid

Family is correct, but I have no information on Neotropical species.

Curtonotum, the only New World genus, was revised last year in Zootaxa 3079. That is not one of the free issues and I have not read it.

Thank you Paul Beuk (for confirming the family) and John Carr (for reveiling the genus). Who knows, maybe someone will eventually be able to even reveal the species.

I have received an answer from Mr. John Klymko, first author of the 2008 key. According to him, it is with 90% certainty a Curtonotum pantherinum, the most common species and one that is known from Guyana. He is not able to give a 100% ID from this photo (the only one I got) alone.
