First of all, thank you to you all for your answers :)
Secondly, no real lateral views unfortunately. He didn't suspect it could be interesting. It came to a light trap. He said the size was about lightly bigger than a House Fly. Adding another picture just in case it helps.

And the same picture without cropping. There was some kind of Lauxaniid by it, to get a closer idea of the size of the mystery fly ;)

Light, that favours Istochaeta
Piluca, please note that all Tachinids are always interesting by definition.

Well, that is something that probably you have taken notice that works for me ;) I am hooked!! :D :D :o
And coming back to the light, although I know I should start another thread, I think this should stay in the same thread ;) Have a look at this another specimen that came to a light trap, this time in Almeria (SE Spain) in April this year. Don't you think it looks suspiciously similar to the other one?

Yes, it is Istochaeta, excellent call by Stephane
I'm not going to speculate on the species, those are pretty similar and moreover I know there are undescribed species around in Europe....
