Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tephritidae ID ==> Tephritis praecox

From July 2009 what I think is a Tephritis sp.
Photos taken in Reading UK, on 2009-07-21 and 2009-07-26. No obvious host plants - it was on the window of a 2nd floor flat that is surrounded by horse chestnut trees and lawns.
Initially I thought it might be T. matricariae (which seems to have colonized SE England in the past decade) but now I think the wing patterns don't look quite right for that. So then I thought maybe T. praecox but that seems to be quite rare in England. Now I am just confused.
