Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Lispe for ID, SE Spain

The pictures were taken by my friend Mercedes Rivera in Almeria, SE Spain in October 2011, coastal area. I believe this is Lispe sp. but we would like to get the species. It looks very different to any Lispe species I have ever found. Tanks in advance for any help.

I would say Lispe candicans, but wait for our expert Nikita.

Stephane, I have doubts:
1. Fly seems to me too small, rather 4-5mm than 7-8mm
2. Hind basitarsus seems to me short and widened
3. Vibrissae seem absent
4. Palpi seem yellow, not brown-blackish.
All these characters fit L. leucocephala.
Of course, I can't be sure. This species wasn't recorded for Europe, but well can be...
