Could someone help me identifying these Tephritid?
I think it can be Chaetostomella cylindrica. The photo (author: José Biedma) was made near Jaén, Spain, on 8.8.2010.

Thanks

I am not an expert, but I recently posted a similar fly and was told it was Tomoplagia sp. Like yours it seemed to be laying eggs in an unopened flower bud:

Thank you, marcaumarc, but this fly isn't a Tomoplagia, and I doubt between Chaetostomella cylindrica or a Chaetorellia sp. Tomoplagia is a beautiful genus that I has never seen!

It is a Chaetostomella alright and most probably C. cylindrica. Its not a Chaetorellia for the lack of the dorsocentral bristles before the suture.
Nor is it a Tomoplagia, thats an endemic genus to the Neotropics.

Thank you very much, John.
The only species cited in peninsular Spain is Ch. cylindrica, it's surely the most probably ID.

It looks to be something special of Chaetostomella: abdominal setae look to be whitish!
