Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Lonchaea ? Setisquamalonchaea fumosa

Can anyone ID this fly. I suspect a Lonchaeidae Lonchaea spec. This fly was seen 2 sept 2011 in riverine area on grass and on Tachetes flowers in eastern part of the Netherlands

Hi Jan
Your third photograph shows the yellowish caylpterae with a number of longer hairs in the fringe (just below the wing), this with the all black legs, time of year and a liking for flowers makes it a female of Setisquamalonchaea fumosa. Do you mind if I use the 3rd photo for my website?
