Many thanks for your help with this. Sorry, no specimens... I very rarely collect unless I know the need and have a chance to return to a location.. and I'm back in the UK now. These flies were quite common on Lesbos, though and I saw them at several locations near the north and east coasts, and I may get the chance to go back next year... I do have several more shots of them, so if there are any specific angles or close up details that would help confirm the ID, I could make crops of them and post them.
