Hi

found by comparison of pics Tachina ursina very similar.
I would be happy abourt correction / confirmation.

Switzerland, near small wetland and forest edge, mai 2010, 430 msm

Yes, that looks correct - the white lines on the abdomen are quite characteristic in Tachinidae :)

That would have been the beginning of May ?
Ursina is normally a very early spring species (March - April, depending on altitude and latitude of course)

Sorry Theo, yes it was beginning of May, exactly 08.05.2010. Spring was partially very wet and very cold. Could this be a reason for May?

I was going to say that here Spring was very cold and we had some species coming out late - so if you had the same then it might explain a late T.ursina record :)

8th of may is very late, but still just acceptible for a female (I mean, the fly).
