several of these were flying over the water line in the beach. Any hope ? July 23. 2010 Loviisa, Finland

I found this thread the other day while looking for pictures of
Cetema cereris and thought something was wrong.
With the closely approximated crossveins and white arista, I'm thinking
Diplotoxa messoria. What do you think Sara?

It seems you are right, and I agree with you, "closely approximated crossveins and white arista" + form of genitalia in the male and even ocellar triangle and etc...shows that you are correct!! :)
