This fly looks like a crane fly but is only 5 mm. Sorry it's in reasonably bad condition (i.e. no legs). Could this be a crane fly or maybe an Asilidae? Its face has some hairs, but I wouldn't consider it bearded.

Rest assured, it is a crane fly. I think the relatively reduced venation should be a good pointer towards the genus but my book does not give an illustration of this particular venation. I may try to use the key on this one, but then you will have to be a little patient.

Dicranomyia (or
Limonia in American style). Rs very short, this might lead somewhere, eyes rather big, nearly holoptic, but I'm not even sure whether cell D is open or not, so still too many options I'm afraid...
