A golden robber fly with prey. Shot in Malaysia in a community forest. Any help on ID is greatly appreciated.

This beautiful fly (& photo!) looks to be Choerades ( "Laphria" ) sobria -- based on a specimen from the British Museum.

Very interesting. The prey is some ant queen (Formicidae).
