c.7mm, Clitheroe, 9 March 2010. Carboniferous limestone retaining wall with seepages. This keyed out easily as a female L. virens, but confirmation would be a comfort. I found what is probably the same individual feeding at one of the seepages yesterday, and again today resting at the same place.

I will post a question about its prey in the larvae forum.

dorsal view. The fly was facing up the vertical surface, but I have rotated the pictures to fit the page better.
