I also appreciate your drawings very much (also thanks for your Anthomyiidae explanations in the other thread)! But I'm afraid, most of the characters I won't be able to see on a live individual (as I don't catch and rear them). Most conspicuous for me on M. rufiventris is the partly yellow pleura and the mostly pure yellow/orange scutellum. In the most cases, I'm afraid I still must rely on expirience and general "jizz" (I find, P. subventa has a clearly different "orange" from P. rufiventris and a clearly different general habit as B. bitincta).
