Curiouser and curiouser. Well I guess it must be P.lardarius as you say and maybe the id. criteria is perhaps not so reliable in Britain at least? I am certain that the yellowish colour is accurate, the light was good - diffuse and not too bright with nothing nearby projecting a yellow tone.
