I found this fly (about 9mm), on a beach near Zeebrugge (Belgum, 16-09-2008). When I came to close, she made only a short fly so it was easy to follow her.
Is it an Helcomyzidae ? .....perhaps Helcomyza ustulata ?

Thanks Stephane :)
There were a lot them at that place. On others pictures the thorax has more brownish stripes.

maybe the hues can give us indication of the sexes. But I'm not sure..
This fly has dust in its scutum and head. if anyone puts this fly in ethanol it would turn quickly in black. Like it happens with Neolimnophora virgo (Muscidae) or some Chamaemyiidae, etc :)
