Found on a house wall in Telemark, Norway on April 30. 8,1 mm.

Does anyone know the difference between Norellia spinipes and N. tipularia - or if anyone knows of a website where this is explained?

The reference cited by Ball in his key to British Scathophagidae is

De Jong, H., 1985. Norellia spinipes (Meigen) in the Netherlands and its distinction from N. tipularia (Fabricius) (Diptera: Scathophagidae). Ent. Ber., Amst., 45, 21-23.
