You might get a name for this from Bob Saville (if you let him use the image on his website Wink - http://www.brc.ac...mepage.htm)

Reply to private message:"just a question: is "my" psocid you named Graphopsocus cruciatus enough characteristic not to confuse with Valenzuela flavidus , both are abundant near the place I took this photo.... cheers"

Sorry about the reply in this thread but I don?t know how to answer with photos in the private message section.

Yes I?m pretty sure that this is a G. cruciatus. I have not seen any larvaes of V. flavidus with those blue eyes. Attached is a picture G. cruciatus that is "new born" and still has a lot of it?s larvael atttributes.

Look at the dark area on the fore head....there ia a clear match.

But I could be wrong Smile

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
