Tachinidae. It reminds me of Siphonini but tergite 4 has discals so it can't be. |

John got misled by the arista: there are more options for an elongated first aristomere. This is actually the female of Entomophaga exoleta, a very rare species. It is restricted, so far, to sandy areas, is very rare, as said. I have seen material from Crete, Israel and ... a large population just 5 km. from my home ! Koutsoukos, could you please provide more info on the habitat ? Theo |

I thought it looked like Siphonini, but the Central European key says only Goniocera has discals on T3 or T4. |

OK, I checked my collection: Entomophaga exoleta often has discals. It is a pity the tibia is so out of focus, I cannot tell whether there is one or more ad on mid tibia. But the first aristomere definitely seems elongaged, which exclude pretty much all other Siphonini. Theo |
