I also found this Asilidae near the little village of Salbertrand in Susa Valley, Piedmont (Italy) at 1000 mt above sea level, on July 16th. Is it possible to identify it? This was quite large, about 3 centimetres long.

At least chrysitis/subdolus/fortis. But no idea about the situation in Italy, there might be even more species. This is a rather problematic group Sad
