Hello, I would like to have your opinion on this one I found at edge of a drying pool in center of France. Is it O schembrii? I know there is other species in France, but don't know how to separate them. clovis : France : Mûrs-Erigné : 49610 : 14/08/2016 Altitude : 20 m - Taille : 7 mm environ Réf. : 177748 clovis : France : Mûrs-Erigné : 49610 : 14/08/2016 Altitude : 20 m - Taille : 7 mm environ Réf. : 177749 |

The front tarsi of schembrii are orange, so this is in the mantis complex. From the abdominal markings, I would say this is manicata, but I have not seen the third species, palearctica, which has been reported from France. To be sure, you would need to catch a male and examine the genitalia.
